26 September 2014 – The three public companies of the energy sector, KESH, OST and the Distribution Operator, have officially started a process for reviewing the energy prices.
Sources from the Energy Regulation Entity confirmed for Top Channel that at least one of the companies have made a request for increasing the energy price, while the two other companies are still formulating their requests.
Based on the law, the three public companies that make the energy system must hand over to the Energy Entity all the new fees that will be applied for the next year. Their requests in the past have been for increasing prices, and this might happen even this year.
The initial energy price in Albania is 9.53 ALL, but fees are not equal within consumers of different categories.
